Stone Door is part of the South Cumberland State Park located in Monteagle, TN. The Great Stone Door is a split in the cliff face that allows passage to the valley floor. This was our second hike at South Cumberland State Park with our Boy Scout Troop 521 out of Clarksville, TN. We hiked to the Stone Door then down into the valley and back up to Alum Gap campsite. The total hike was a little over 13 miles in two days. We visited two falls along the way; Ranger Falls and Greeter's Falls. I was brave enough to swim in the pool at the bottom of Greeter's Falls that was about 55 degrees or so. Sore legs and feet but all smiles!
